The Bolder Boulder

Tomorrow 40,000+ people will run (or walk) the Bolder Boulder a 10k event. This is an annual race every Memorial Day and our third year in Boulder for the event. The first year was kind of fuzzy. Last year was more memorable as several people in our community ran the race and we had a Low Country Boil at Chip & Meg's house. But this year I realized how much this town loves to celebrates this weekend. In addition to the Bolder Boulder there is the Boulder Creek Festival which runs along Boulder Creek, of course. Kirk and I came home from church and went down to the festival. There were carnival rides (which we don't remember seeing in the past), several musical venues, a ton of artisans and plenty of food (including cotton candy). The setting is absolutely amazing as you are at the foot of the flat irons and there are people all along the creek, playing in the water and just enjoying the day. We met a friend later in the evening for dinner and sat outside with an amazing view of the mountains. We are in awe every day that we are privileged to live in this city and more in awe that God has called us to this city.
