This is not normal. That is what our friends Shayne and Carrie heard at least once or twice a day on their visit to Colorado last week. When most people think of Colorado they think snow. Yes the mountains are covered in snow from November thru April, but cities on the front range like Boulder usually see snow about five or six times from November to April. And when it snows it hangs around for a couple of days, then the sun comes out and it melts. But not this year. We have had snow on an average of once a week since the week of Christmas. So when we told Shayne and Carrie this wasn't normal they would respond "sure". Of course they were only half teasing, but not really because they have never been to Colorado and had nothing to compare it to. They were excited to go home to 65 degree weather on Monday.
I wonder if that is what Adam and Eve said after the fall, "this is not normal". They had perfection and now it was gone. They had something to compare it to. I look forward to the day when normal is perfection. Gone will be this fallen world and I will be in the presence of my Savior, the one who is perfect.
