Our parents (both sets) and two of Kirk's aunts arrived in Colorado last week for a long weekend trip to the mountains. We headed to our favorite mountain house up past Nederland. It was a great weekend with all kinds of weather....rain, snow, sunshine, and fog (some all in the same day and some in the same hour). We did some bird watching from the kitchen table, built a couple of fires, ate way too much food, played Mexican Train and Phase 10, read, talked, listened to some great music, watched a couple of cowboy movies (Kirk and his Dad), went on a couple of hikes, saw bear poop, watched the sunset from an outcrop of rocks, took long and short naps, helped a hummingbird who found his way into the house back outside and watched a mule deer graze outside the big picture windows. What more could you ask for in a vacation?
Mom and Dad
Aunt Robbie, Kirk's Mom and Aunt Barbara.
An intense game of Phase 10.
